All services are prepaid through the Veteran's military service. Vet Centers provide readjustment counseling services to Veterans and Service member who have served in a war zone or area of hostility and their families. Vet Center services are also extended to family members who experienced an active duty death (bereavement counseling) and Veterans of any era who have experienced any form of military sexual trauma or harassment. These Veterans are not required to have served in a war zone.
- Marital and family counseling for issues related to the readjustment of the Veteran.
-Bereavement counseling for families who experience an active duty death. -Medical referrals.
-VBA benefits explanation and referral.
-Employment counseling, guidance and referrals.
-Information and referral to community resources.
-Military sexual trauma counseling and referral.
-Outreach and community education.
-Vet Center Combat Call Center: VA's Vet Center Program Operates a Combat Call Center 1-877-WAR-VETS (1-877-927-8387). This is an around the clock confidential call center where combats Veterans and their families can call to talk about their military experience or any other issues they are facing in their readjustment to civilian life. The Staff is comprised of combat Veterans from several eras as well as family member so combat Veterans.
